  • Thanks for Stopping By!

Hi! I am Brandie, the one behind the lens. You can usually find me torturing one of my four kiddos or lost behind my camera lens! I look forward to capturing your journey, and capturing the moment you are in and transforming those moments into memories!

Life as a Homeschooler

I am asked numerous times a day, “what do you do?” This is always a stubbled upon question for me because honestly where do I start to answer this question. ๐Ÿ™‚ Those that follow me know that I am a photographer but I don’t wear a band that tells this, and it isn’t usually my first response to the question. My heart is at home with these four amazing kiddos, raising them, teaching them, and playing with them. So, I figured, why not share that part of my life. I want to share and show others what I do.
Photography is a gift I have been given so why not use it as a gift to my children. I hope to start blogging more about our days and our lessons and hopefully reach to others that are homeschooling and join forces, share stories and share lessons.

This is a snipit of what our days look like. My oldest is working diligently on her math as her younger siblings take turns with their learning of letters. For my younger kiddos sensory and play is all they are concentrating on right now. The more my five year old touches, explores and manipulates that more he begins to understand and learn his letters. K- is three and wakes up daily asking me, “what’s for school today, mommy?” I love this I love her love for learning. I hope that she continues with this and that I can keep feeding her little mind as long as she lets me.

Port Charlotte Bridal Show

Wow, what an amazing day Sunday was. I had the privilege of being apart of the Port Charlotte Bridal Show on Sunday, and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed talking and mingling with so many brides and friends. This was my first time at a bridal show so attending was pretty intimidating! For months I planned this day, I placed orders, I googled, I pinned, and I talked to other photographers. I wanted my booth to show my personality, I wanted the brides to see me as a creative, fun, relaxed photographer. Sunday finally rolled around and we arrived at 9:00 am to begin the setup! As it all pulled together it felt amazing, the rush of seeing it all set up and knowing that I was showing off the best of my work proudly!
I am so thankful to my supportive husband that stuck through this month of my endless talking and (some days) whining about how to pull this off. Thankful that he understood when dinner wasn’t cooked because I was, yet again, lost in the planning process. I am thankful for my sister who stood by me all day and talked to the brides. I am thankful that she is ready to dive into this business with me and start to learn and become my second shooter. I am thankful for my parent who continue to believe in me. AND I am thankful to all my clients who TRUST me and allow me to be at all your amazing events and lifetime moments so I can capture and savor the moments!
So, with that, here is my booth! (oh and the winner of the bridal session!)

Thank you Tina for the wonderful cupcakes and cupcake bouquet that matched my color scheme. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s my baby stirring up all the wonderful brides names! Getting ready to draw the lucky winner of the bridal session!

CONGRATULATIONS Brandy!!! I will be in touch with you to discuss your wedding details!

Thank you for everyone that stopped by! I look forward to meeting with more of you and getting to know you on a more personal level!

Florida Sessions Begin!

Well, its official! I have had my first session here in Florida, and have had lessons on this crazy weather! Thankfully these guys have been super flexible and have delt with this crazy rainy season. Being from Colorado and seeing very little rain I am learning a whole new world of weather. Needless to say, we began our session in the sunshine and ended our session sprinting out of some insane rain. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Even though we ended in the rain we still caught some great images. I hope you guys enjoy this little sneak peek!

Welcome to Florida

I am welcoming our family to Florida! ๐Ÿ™‚ If you follow me on facebook you know that I am currently giving away a session and a flash drive. This is huge so if you don’t follow me, you should. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Anyways, there have been a ton of new faces join me over there and I thought I should introduce myself and my family.
Tonight we took a picnic dinner our to the park and took some photos and I figured this is us, so why not share it so you can get to know me a little before I “join” your family.
My husband and I moved here from a small little mountain town in Colorado. We have never known anything but the mountains and the fresh air, but we are embracing this heat and humidity and enjoying life.

One thing about my photography is I catch life how it is. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Through laughter, tears, hugs, and games its the emotion that shows through. With my kiddos I can guarantee one of them will throw a fit at some point in time and for me its a story to tell later. So, for our family picture Jackson had hurt his foot and couldn’t get over it, so tonights family picture wasn’t “perfect” but for me it was. The cookies that made his owie better are shown and the mood was a tad somber but that’s ok, this was us, tonight. ๐Ÿ™‚
Meet our kiddos:
Branson, our baby. He just turned one and learned to walk (and scream). He is becoming his own person lately and letting us know, very loudly who he is and what he wants.ย

Kynnlie, our thinker. She is 2.5 and has always been our serious child. The one that has to figure out what is going on before she jumps, but once she is okay with the situation hold on tight because she doesn’t stop.ย  Jackson just turned five. He is our little lover but 100% boy. If he isn’t outside, dirty and naked he probably isn’t 100% himself.ย  And Miss Rylie is eight. She is my little care taker. She is such an amazing little girl that loves her brothers and sister and would do anything for anyone.ย  This is just a “snipit” of our little family. I am a family girl, I love to get to know the families that I photograph. I love growing and learning with everyone and having more than just ” a photographer” relationship.

Thank you for following my family and welcoming us to Florida, I can’t wait to meet you and your families!
